In late 2023, Microsoft made the announcement that it would no longer be actively developing Windows Mixed Reality (WMR). However, the official end-of-life status for the application is not set to occur until November 2026. Despite this, VR headsets relying on WMR will continue to function. Previously, we discussed WMR as a failed VR platform, and Microsoft had promised significant advancements with its implementation.
